Input mask on fieldsOn the backlog

To ensure data is stored in the database correctly and consistently we have to use code to fix user input. It would be great if we could put input masks on field so the user has a visual clue what to put in and how to put it in. Also this could lead to more consistent data insertion. See:

Remember last 5 searches in Code SearchOpen

As a developer, I want to be able to quickly switch between my last 5 searches to see the Code search results.This will allow developers to effectively search multiple expressions and inspect the results of these searches quickly. It will also decrease the amount of times a developer would have to Code search once again for the same expressions even though the results would not be any different from the previous search.

Making a Module branch from Trunk projectCompleted

I work on a huge project for a client and the data model contains 1200+ subjects. Every branch we make works on other subjects, for example a Project branch works on Project related subjects and the CRM branch works on the CRM subjects. These branches currently both have the same subjects (1200+) and this makes the branch (data model) pretty big. What would be great to have is that we could define a Module; or a part of the data model specific for that branch. Probably the CRM module doesn't need all 1200+ subjects but only needs around 300 or so. If that Module would only have in it those 300 subjects needed to develop the CRM, then it would save a lot of space, time and most importantly synchronization time (syncing to IAM). What do you think about this Community? Would love to hear more about this.

Making the 'Refresh model' task also get the latest project versionCompleted

Currently if I open the application (directly to the SF) it'll open with the given project version. In my case I put in 'null' so it will open the latest development version. When I do an upgrade in the Software Factory and then make a new project version, I have to close my application to open the same application again, just to change the project version of the application. What I would like as developer is that when I press the 'Refresh model' task (only available to developers) that the GUI (application) will look if there's a newer development version available. Then if so, that it will give me a message saying if I would like to instead switch my application project version to the newer project version; a simple yes/no would do the trick. That would mean I don't have to close my application anymore and it is always running the latest project version. It will ensure I'm never making changes in a wrong version because I didn't notice that the project version I'm working in (in th

Provision database after creating a branch, optionally with base dataOpen

During development with the Software Factory, we usually work in branches. With every branch we make, a database would need to be created so I can test my changes in action.It would be awesome if the Software Factory could either:Copy an existing database, based on a selected runtime configuration, or; Create a new database, based on the data model of the Origin of my branch.Of course, this copy or create of a database should be run in the background.Additionally, a great nice-to-have would be that I can list base data for my tables in the data model. This would look similar to Mock data, or Data sets used for Unit tests. But this can be left out of scope for the original idea.

🚀 Platform improvements for week 38Hotfix

Hi everyone!We’ve released the following platform improvements this week:SF 2022.220220923 - Correction in the Synchronization run orchestration when using API-calls When there was a large enough time difference between the two API-calls to Generate synchronization scripts and Synchronization to either IAM or Disk, it would lead to these two processes to not be linked correctly in the Synchronization run. Without that link, the Synchronization to IAM screen could not show the processes properly. This has been fixed. IAM 2022.2, 2022.1, 2021.3, 2021.220220923 - Granted execute rights to is_authorized_tenant function Some roles have not gotten execute rights for the is_authorized_tenant function. This has been fixed.

New Process action - (Un)zip fileCompleted

For my client it would be very much welcome to have a new Process action that can Zip and Unzip a file. Since we will use Indicium to help us import files, we need to be able to Unzip uploaded/incoming files. Most times these zipped files are compressed with Bzip2. We currently run code to use 7-zip to unzip the files to the desired location. I do think other companies can benefit greatly from this too. The parameters for this action will most likely be but not limited to: File location (where the zip file currently is) Zip/Unzip to (location where to zip/unzip to) Compression type (Type of compression used or to be used to zip/unzip - Bzip2 for instance) Password (In case the file is or needs to be protected) The Process action should return a list/variable of what files have come out of the zip file

Notify developer when Object name matches a disapproved Sub nameCompleted

When developing it can be easy to create new objects and validate after all development is done. This can mean that you have used disapproved object names and have created and even deployed all kinds of objects with this disapproved name. Having to rename all these objects can be a pity.It would be nice if during adding or editing objects, that I would be notified that my object name matches with a disapproved sub name. This could be inside the default procedure throwing a pop-up message explaining to me which sub name is used but disapproved.

Ability to enter reason for setting Control procedure InactiveOpen

When setting Control procedures to the Inactive state, it is not possible to enter a reasoning to why the control procedure has been made Inactive. This may cause confusing to why a certain Control procedure is now inactive.Having a place/field to give in a reasoning can take this confusion away. (Maybe this can be done for all objects that can be inactive such as Unit tests)This field could, for example, then be shown in the Form of the Control procedure screen once the Control procedure is Inactive.

Autonomously generate report and send it by e-mail

This is an Archived topic. The solution is available in the Thinkstore inside the Software Factory.GoalBased on a customer story.Every day at 06:45 a procedure runs for the customer and during that procedure, errors can occur. These errors are recorded inside the application and viewed by one particular user. This user only opens the application to look at these errors. If there are no errors at all, the user still has to look inside the application to find out. It would be more handy if the user gets an e-mail with a Report of all the errors. Revised synchronization and deploymentBlog

Hi everyone,We previously explained how the Thinkwise Platform version 2021.3 revised the way creation and automation works.In the Thinkwise Platform version 2022.1, we also revised the way the Synchronization to IAM (Intelligent Application Manager) and Deployment package screens work, allowing for seamless integration in CI/CD tools that many have been waiting for.The Synchronization and Deployment processes are the final two processes that now have been made to fully run via Indicium and therefore can be initialized via Indicium's API. More on that later in this blog.In the previous version, the steps in these screens were bound to a specific client. A developer would start to Synchronize to IAM and the synchronization would be orchestrated start-to-end by the user’s client. This also applies for the Deployment package process. Can I attach an external SQL file to the 'Execute source code' step during 'Creation'?

To be precise, I have other application which generates a script. This script I would like the Software Factory to run during the 'Execute source code' step of another application. How can I make this work? My idea is that the Software Factory reads from a certain file path, looking for the SQL file and then attaching it to the 'Execute source code' step, but if there's another/better way I would love to hear it. (It is not an option to generate the code inside the application where I would like the script to be run on)

Exclude .bak files from being PreviewedOpen

The previewer is great but it is not so great when a row is selected with a .bak file. The GUI will load the whole file to try and preview it, but will not succeed as .bak files cannot be previewed anyway. Would be nice if the Previewer excluded this file extension. But of course there are more file extensions to exclude.Or; The Preview component should check the extension first before trying to preview filedata.

Copy all column values from selected columnOpen

We can copy all row data by using Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C but even when I hide all other columns (through User preference) than the column I want to select all values from, it still ends up copying all the values of all other columns too. Maybe that's a bug but… What I would like to be able to do is selecting all values from a single column and copy it. Can we make this possible?

Ability to change domain control iconsClosed

I would like to be able to change the icon next to the file upload field. In the application, gray icons are being used to open/start tasks and this task makes it possible for an user to upload a file. Currently there's a difference between my task icon and the file upload icon. If I could make these two the same, that would greatly benefit the look of the application. Difference in Icons

Strategies for Control proceduresBlog

Hi everyone,For the 2021.3 release, the complete Creation process has been overhauled to be fully run by Indicium. There was one other feature on the backlog that was very valuable to the Generate definition process, and now was the perfect time to implement it. When generating, all generated program objects would be dropped and re-created by the control procedures. This process costs performance and IO. It would be smarter if objects were not simply dropped and re-created, but instead created/changed/dropped only when that truly applies. StrategiesTo improve the Generate definition process, several generation strategies have been implemented. A Strategy is a defined way of how the Software Factory should generate the control procedure. For every strategy there can be reasons to choose one over the other, but it is recommended to use the Staged strategy due to all its performance benefits. Read on to see how to implement these new strategies. The following strategies are now available

Duplicate window as entry in context menu of open windowsCompleted

When developing I sometimes want to open the same screen multiple times and finding the menu entry can be a bit tedious. I rather have the option in the context menu to duplicate the selected window. It does not have to keep the filtering but if it does, it's okay too.

Ability to influence the Mandatory field errorOpen

When using the Formlist and having mandatory fields, if I don't enter a value in the field, the GUI will give me a message stating that I didn't fill in a value for Field X. The problem is that due to the table construction and overall layout, the column name does not indicate which empty field is the problem.Here the implementation (in Dutch):ImplementationIn the implementation, a Formlist is used to have a label on the left side and a input field on the right. But the field on the right can be different each row. For instance, it could be a Yes/No field, a Numeric field or a Alphanumeric field; like in the screenshot above. In this case the user didn't fill in the correct salutation but the message does not explain that; it refers to the field.If there would be a way possible to influence the way the Mandatory field error message and show a translation, this whole challenge would be solved. Then 'Alphanumeric value’ would be replaced by 'Salutation for Man’.

🔥 Urgent hotfix for week 24hotfix

This new hotfix makes sure the correct version number is used.

Add checkbox in Process Flow screen to indicate the Flow will be a System FlowClosed

Currently all Process actions are available to the user and there's no indication during development that the created Process Flow is a valid System Flow. There's a validation that tells if there are Process actions used that are not available to be used in System Flows but it lacks helping the developer successfully set up a System Flow.With a checkbox in the main Process Flow screen, not only will it be easy to find System Flows in the long list of Process Flows, it can also be the indication for the SF to limit the amount of Process actions available for use. Also the Process schedule tab can then be hidden for Process Flows whilst available for System Flows.When changing an existing Process Flow to be a System Flow, there could be a check upon switching the checkbox if there are Process actions used that are not supported. When true, show a message.

Locking project version upon syncing project version to IAMCompleted

Currently it's possible to add/alter/delete model objects of a project version that is being synced at that moment. This can cause that there are loose objects in IAM.For example there was a sync going on in the project I work on. At the time of the sync, another developer deleted a table (with columns). But during the syncing process, the columns are synced first and the tables later. During the syncing of columns and syncing of tables, the table has been deleted, causing the table to not end up in IAM. But the columns were already there.This inconsistency caused Indicium (Universal) to not run any System Flows for that application because the model was incorrect.I would like a protection for this as upon opening the IAM application there's no visible error or anything about the model being incomplete or incorrect. The only way to find out things are not working properly is by looking in the Log of Indicium.

Construction of Idea URL's has changedNews

In a recent Community platform update from Insided, the way URL's are constructed has changed. In a reaction Insided said the following: The URL’s of ideas were inconsistent to other content types, so we changed them to be consistent (this was required for conversions to work).If a user has copied an idea URL before April 19, then this URL is not going to work anymore. The URLs are not going to change in the future, so whenever a user copies an idea link from the Community now, they will always see the correct topic.We apologise for the inconvenience
