Select default startup branch in 2023.1Completed

IN 2023.1 you get the popup to select a branch if you have multiple active branches. However, more often then not you are working exclusively in 1 branch at a time. I suggest adding a default branch option to the user which branch should be loaded by default, this way you won't have to select the branch every time you boot up the software factory.

2023.1: Add a tree structure for insight in branch levelsCompleted

In the 2023.1 version all branches are part of the same model. To add a better overview of branch levels please add a tree structure to showcase if a branch is created from the main (root) or a different branch. Currently it's not visually clear what are 1st or 2nd (etc) level branches.

Optional alternative translation object for duplicate entriesOn the backlog

In a perfect world you name every column correctly in the first try. However, more often than not software needs to be revised and columns need to be renamed. The only options I now know of to rename a column is to create an expression column or rename the actual column on the data model to create a new translation subject. Both have some disadvantages and feel very redundant for just a simple column rename action. What would help is the option to create an alternative translation object for a specific object (for example a column). Or choose a different existing translation object.

Add prefilters and tasks to the default screen type.Open

When creating a new subject the default screen type assigned (master detail) does not contain the most frequent used components, namely tasks and prefilters. More often then not this results in having to choose a different screen type. If you have no prefilters/tasks the component is not shown so there is no harm done in adding these components. My suggested fix: add a new default screen type master detail with preftilters and tasks. Have this as default for any new subject instead. This will keep current screens using master detail in tact but will improve the user friendliness.

Don't name everything T1Closed

For trouble shooting it would be much easier if not everything in the code was called T1. Trying to find the source of T1.[column_name] can be pretty time consuming since there are multiple T1 aliases used within the select statements created by the GUI.

Indicium status indicatorOpen

To give better insight into the status of the indicium layer a visual representation in the windows GUI would be really helpful. To implement this a traffic light system could be used. Green: indicium is active and availableYellow: indicium is active but there is some kind of error in the log. (for example when the license server can't be reached. Red:     indicium did not respond

Do not copy reference indexes when copying a tableClosed

When copying a table in the SF the references are not copied, however the indexes that are used for the references are. These indexes no longer make sense since you don't have the reference on the new table. So please remove these when copying a table.

Show warning in process flow actions functionality that the code group is not generatedClosed

In process flow you can see the added functionality in the process action screen. However, if the code group processes is not generated this will stay blank looking like this:  Now it seems like no functionality was added to this process step, this is however a misdirection since the code group processes was not yet generated. It would be more user friendly if there was a small warning here telling the user that the code group processes is not yet generated so that's the reason why they don't see any functionality. After generating the code group, now the process functionality shows:

On copying a table/view add a Checklist of what to copyCompleted

When copying a table or a view a lot of things are copied with it, some wanted some unwanted. When copying a view the old template is assigned to the new view, in most cases I do not want this to happen. Same goes for tasks, when copying a table more often than not I do not want the tasks assigned to the new table.  To make the copying more user friendly (and to give some insight of what it is actually copying) i would like a checklist with objects it is going to copy with the option to deactivate some. This way I would know copying a view also copies the tasks, table parameters, assign the template and copy the filters.

if exists Alter procedure on functionality executeCompleted

During development (especially during the user test) you sometimes have to make quick changes to functionality. However executing the code from the functionality - result screen will do a drop and create, messing up any rights set to the procedure. It would be very helpful if instead the code did a if exists alter , if not exists create. Since this is probably not wanted since some people use the result screen to edit their code I would also be happy if there was a second button (generate as alter procedure). This way any rights set to the object will remain intact. This would save a lot of time during user tests and would decrease the change of errors due to overwriting the current procedure.

IAM: better handling of user group default begin on periodCompleted

Currently when adding a user group to a user in IAM the begins on is set based on the begins on of the user. When the begins on period lies in the future this makes sense. When the begins on lies in the past this is incorrect. I want to be able to see when the group was added to correctly trouble shoot rights issues. I would suggest this logic: if begins on >= getdate()then begins onelse getdate()

Multiple open projects and how to handle themCompleted

In the SF it is possible to open multiple projects or project versions. For example you can open functionality for version 1.00 and version 1.10 of your branch. However you are able to edit both. Sometimes if you need to check something with older versions/different branches this can become very confusing and there is the risk of editing the wrong branch or project.Multiple ideas: Do not switch the active project upon switching tabs Add some kind of colour (red) or a warning sign (red exclamation mark) to show the current tab is not part of the active project Make any tab that is not the active project read-only. Make it possible to switch all opened tabs to the latest version, with the click of a button

Indicator for added functionality in the process flow design screenCompleted

Looking at the process flow design screen you have no clue if a process action has added functionality. To make the design screen easier to read it would be really helpful to add some indicator that functionality is added to a process action. Either changing the colour of the action step or add an indicator to it.

How do i use expand in indicium?

How do I use the expand functionality in indicium? Whatever i try i always end up with invalid odata url. I tried creating an expand statement based on the documentation, either the documentation is incorrect or I am missing something here. https://docs.thinkwisesoftware.com/docs/indicium/api#expandthe community wont allow me to add the link I use so i added a picture. I tried on tablename, id name, lookup name. Nothing seems to work.

Indicium requires RequireHttpsMetadata=false setting but how do I set this?

I can no longer navigate to my local indicium instance. It's giving me a 500 error and the log shows this error: 2022-12-05T13:46:28.4343183+01:00 8000000b-0009-ff00-b63f-84710c7967bb [ERR] An unhandled exception occurred while processing the request. (ffba027a)System.InvalidOperationException: The MetadataAddress or Authority must use HTTPS unless disabled for development by setting RequireHttpsMetadata=false.Where do I set this setting? I can't find any documentation on this. Do I set it in the appsettings or web config? And in what section does this need to be added?

4926 - Why does forgot password not show up during windows gui login

I have created an RMDBS user and configured the ini with the following setting: AllowResetPassword = YesThe iam user has the tickbox: Wijzigen toegestaan (allow change of password)But still the forgot password option does not show on the login screen. Is there an additional setting that influences whether this option is available?

Metadata not showing all columns

I was under the impression that metadata would show all visible columns that are applied to the role. What am I missing here? Why are the invisible columns supplier_id and supplier_lookup shown but not all the visibile columns?

Add validation for incorrect constraints on domainsOpen

Currently there are no limitations on constraints regarding the datatype. It's possible to create constraints on domains that make no sense, see picture below. Please add a validation for constraints that are incorrect and need to be corrected. These constraints cause all kinds of problems when deployed on the database.

Indicium problem writing to disk (Smart) but works with admin user.

A customer had problems with writing smart upgrade files to disk, while full worked perfectly fine. When he changed the indicium user to domain\administrator user Smart also worked properly. The previous user was a  domain user with local admin right and SQL sysadmin rights. Can someone explain what rights the indicium user needs to have since I can't explain why one works and the other does not. Additional question: Is it necessary for the indicium application in IIS to be anonymous, or whether it is also possible on Windows authentication. This can also have certain consequences for the handling of rights.

How is this not a merge conflict?

Can someone explain to me how this is not considered to be a merge conflict? The column was renamed both in the trunk and in the branch. Should it not give a merge conflict since it was renamed in both? Trunk version 1.22 → branch 1.0 created Trunk v 1.23 column x renamed to xxtBranch v 1.01 createdBranc v 1.01 column x renamed to xxbb

Error during smart deployment package

A develop partner has a problem with creating deployment package with the Smart setting.First time running the deployment package (smart) it crashes on write code files (smart) with no error in the indicium log. The second time it crashes on write code files, with no error in the indicium log. At one point it crashed on a different point with the error below but most times the indicium log has no errors.We ran all hotfixes, indicium is up to date etc, Also we tried full upgrade that works perfectly and rebooting indicium had no effect. Anything else we can try or check? The problem is most times you don't get an error so you have no clue what's going wrong with the deployment package creation. : error:2022-10-07T09:27:25.0192874+02:00  [ERR] Process action 'clean_folder' in processflow 'system_flow_write_code_files_to_disk' threw an exception. Change control procedure is in development from Error to WarningClosed

Currently if a control procedure is in development the severity given to it in validation is Error. In the current version this will stop the execute complete creation if you have abort on error selected. In reality I want to abort the creation on errors like database errors or major model errors, not on a procedure that is not yet set to "waiting for review status". So I propose to change the severity for control procedures in development to warning instead.

On creation of a database also ask if a new project version should be createdClosed

When executing source code there is a pop up that asks if a new project version should be created. This popup does not show on the initial execution fora new database. In this case the same rules apply, it is still best practice to start in a new project version if you want to do model changes or other big changes. So please also show this popup on first execution of execute source code. It is still a question so it can be denied if needed.

Change the order of process flow output to first give task parametersClosed

Process flows have an output tab with the general and task parameters tabs. The general tab is the first tab which only holds the status code. I think the most used option should be the first tab since this can save a lot of clicks on a day basis. I propose to move the task parameters in front to be the first tab since this is the one most used.
