Hey Michael, Great ideas I think, for the second part, could you create a separate idea? This way the progress on both idea can be managed more efficiently. Thanks! Ability to the run a deployment in the deployment center via Indicium servicetier | Thinkwise Community (thinkwisesoftware.com)Done ^^
I'd say if the screen can remember what options are last selected and reduce the amount of popups to one instead of two task popups would be enough.
I share the opinion of Harm here, my original idea was that i get a button which deploys everything related to the table/view/task/report. This could be something like Harm sketches in his example from the Code Overview screen. Current development surely helps the development process speed, but it could be better.
Again any news on this backlog item, any ETA when we can expect this feature?
Any idea when this will get into the planning? Would love to see this been implemented...
And perhaps if there were any errors that it displays the last error?
When will this be available? I can see many uses for this.
From what i understood 3 months ago from Ester. Is that the way she developed it was intented to display the value. My original idea was a way to make it easier to enter this data for the user, this idea that Ester made is only to display the data in a nicer way… Unless im wrong…?
I Would advice to upvote the following idea:
I don't know if this idea will be implemented, but you could create a Validation in your project to check this. I can see why the extra's would not be implemented, but the description field would be a useful addition to the model to describe what a reference does/what it is for. The data model of the SF supports the field already, its just not available within the popup in the data-modeler.
Hey Michael, as far as I know SQL Server is not capable of checking data on referential integrity for new data only. The NOCHECK option in fact kind of disables the constraint for all data. I don't think that is what you want. What you can do is change your reference into a GUI-reference (check is off) and add some code into your triggers to enforce integrity for new records. WITH CHECK will check existing data against the new constraint.WITH NOCHECK will not check existing data against the new constraint. This will allow you to have child records without a corresponding parent. I believe SQL Server is capable ;-)
To be clear, i mean the reference popup in the datamodeler
I was actually thinking about this Erik. The default value of the field should be ‘0’. The 0 data element should also be there as a domain element (for constraints...). But that 0 value can also contain the ‘empty’ starfield image. When you hover over the field the translation should be shown yes, i was thinking to show it behind the stars. But it could also be in the tooltip text with a more detailed description. ------ And as a sidenote, You could even do 10 steps with half selected stars for when you click in between two stars.
I believe we get a bit sidetracked here, Remco intended when you create a view in the model the crud functionality is not enabled. And the developer has to enable the crud options to allow users to do something instead of the add button just being there without a intention of the developer to it beeing there. So letting the SF decide something based on a trigger or such is not the question/idea. We see mostly that for views we in most cases we disable the crud options.
