Universal GUI auto-save and starting a task with proces flow

The tasks are on the same subject?Normally tasks will get disabled after changes are made. In case of auto-save, they should stay enabled at all times, I whould say.Sounds like we are having an issue here. Could you please report a ticket for this in TCP?

You can take a look behind the scenes using this link:https://docs.thinkwisesoftware.com/docs/deployment/universal_troubleshootingIt is pretty hard this way to say what the bottlenecks are, by the given information.If you like to exclude columns with large chunks of data in it for a subject showing a lot of records at once, the best way to skip them is the usage of a table variant in the SF.Working in a detail subject, it is important the parent record could be found fast based on its primary key.

Opening the table using the hourglass, you can use paging to only load the data of a single page within the opened popup. Filtering could be used to get to the desired result there.Talking about the dropdown, we support two types of controls. Comboboxes will loading all options directly. A suggestion control will trigger the user to type a key-word first. This last option is the best option on a data set like this.Now we reduced the amount of data transferred to the client. When the call remains slow, indexes on the database or prefiltering will indeed optimize the call for data.

Universal and Model changes

I agree there is something to win here. We got some items on our backlog to approve this. For example an option on the ‘model-expired’-message to renew immediately. I think indeed the 'model-expired’-message will only come up when working against IAM, because it is initiated by Indicium. For now it is up to the developer(teams) to inform eachother about important changes. In a production environment, your application will always work against IAM.

Hi Patrick,Nice question!First of all, it is Indicium in behind executing the layout logic and throwing these error.In Universal you will get the "Application model expired” message. This is a notification for the user there are changes. The user can refresh the browser to renew the application definition at the client-side.How about Indicium?When running Universal GUI against IAM, Indicium is smart enough to detect model changes themselfs, reloading the API definition at runtime.When running against the SF, the user could trigger this behavior by logging off in Universal. This gives Indicium the signal to renew itself.A recycle of the entire IIS Application pool, shouldn't be necessary.Does this answer your question?Kind regards, Erik

Is it possible to save a value to a session cookie and access it via a function?

Hi Michalis,In our oppinion an application running on the client is per definition unsave. Indicium and the HTTPS connection between them make it save. It is not save to share a the encryption key spread over all available client with a high change of leaking it somewhere.When stored save in the database, indeed even your admins shouldn't get access to the encrypted data, not knowing the encryption key eigther.Our latest platform release offers possibilities to do so. Indicium is stateless, so beside a authentication cookie, there is not something like a session cookie. A session cookie isn't required to store it safely,

Any errors printed in the console tab of the browsers DevTools in this case?And are you using an up-to-date version of the GUI?

Year picker in web gui

At the moment, our platform doesn't offer a control type like this. Technical, of course, this is possible. Would you like to bring up a Community idea for this, so others can vote on this too? In the meantime manual numeric input with a length of 4 is the best way to go, I think.

As far as I know, Universal / Indicium always expected this input parameter of the processflow action to be defined as a varchar type instead of a numeric. You can change the datatype in the SF, without any risks to resolve the problem. Does this resolve the problem?
