What are 'Snapshot' views and how to use them?
As developer we are given some data model table types, namely making a Table, a View or a Snapshot. In the documentation it only says "In a snapshot, just as in a view, data from one or more tables can be combined, though in a snapshot this data is actually saved." I am unsure how to use it and do not really have the time to experiment with it. Is there someone that can show me what a Snapshot is, what it does, how to set it up (in depth preferably) and what advantages (and maybe disadvantages) it has? Thanks in advance!
Two (or more) reports in a process flow on multiple records
The situation is the following: I have two reports. When I run both reports seperately on a collection of records, it will give me a report for each record. First a report for the first record, then a report for the second and so on. What I would like to achive is: I would like to make a process flow to execute both reports on a collection of records and then I would like to be presented with the first report for the first record, then the second report for the first record, then the first report for the second record followed by the second report for the second record, and so on. I haven't been able to achieve this. It appears like I am not able to cary forward the collection of records to the second process action. I hope my question is clear. Any help or hints would be appreciated. Thanks.
What happend with stored procedure post_sync in IAM?
Until 2018.3 there was the post_sync procedure, which could be used to execute some statements after the synchronization process. The main reason why I am asking, is because I like to execute this statement after every sync: EXEC [dbo].[task_switch_path] @project_id = @project_id, @project_vrs_id = @project_vrs_id, @old_path = 'S:\Thinkwise\Applications\', @new_path = 'Applications\', @use_iam_project = 0 Is there any alternative?
Office 365 Authentification and indicium
We want to implement single sign on (SSO) on our application. We are using the Windows GUI which makes connection with Indicium. We connect over the internet. The Indicium installation is on an IIS server in our own network. The ini file looks like: metasource = iam rdbms = indicium server = https://application-indicium.xxxx.nl/api The usernames we have are e-mail adresses and in IAM are configured as ‘Authentification type’ = IAM. We would like to use the Office365 authentification (online sign-in services). Is this possible and if so, how do you do it?
Resource Scheduler & Extender
This is going to be a lengthy post about the Resource Scheduler extender. Instead of making a couple of threads, I’ve bundled all questions we have regarding the resource scheduler into one.
Extender properties
Let’s start with the extender properties of the resource scheduler. In addition to the extensive amount of properties you’re presented with, the description of said properties leaves a lot to be desired. Most of the time there’s little to nothing added to make clear what a certain property really does or how to properly set up one. For example: As you can see the value type of the ‘Days’ property is Int. But if I, let’s say, enter 5 as a value and refresh my model I get the following warning. That leaves me with a lot of questions as
How is code history in templates supposed to work?
I am confused on the workings of code history tab on control procedures - templates. The workings seems to differ from one version to another. The way I would expect it to work is like this: The template is created in the trunk, amended in the trunk a day later. The next day a branch is created and the template is amended in the branch. And the next day it is merged back to the trunk. trunk - create the template on 2019-1-1 in version 1.00 trunk - amended the template on 2019-1-2 in version 1.00 branch - amended the template on 2019-1-3 in version 1.00 (branch) trunk - merged the branch back to the trunk on 2019-1-4 in version 1.10 now in the trunk I would expect the following in the code history: insert - trunk - 1.00 - 2019-1-1 update - trunk - 1.00 - 2019-1-2 update - branch - 1.10 - 2019-1-4 and in the branch the following: insert - trunk - 1.00 - 2019-1-1 update - trunk - 1.00 - 2019-1-2 update - branch - 1.00 - 2019-1-3 what i actually get after merging is this in t
How to select items in a tree with a checkbox?
In the Software Factory it is possible to select items in a tree view (see below). As far as I know, you can define a display column and an image, but not a column for selection. If I use a column 'selected' as in the example below, it will not be shown. Is this a custom screen? How can we achieve this? It should work the same. If I select the 'parent', all 'childs' should be selected.
Ability to order the fields in 'Update'
EDIT: The order of the fields in the can be changed in Subjects-->Components-->Form. As commented by Henri Timmermans Topic can be closed/changed to question. Then his answer as Best Answer. ---Original Currently I don't think it's possible to change the order of the field in the 'Update' screen. It is possible that fields are ordered almost randomly. It doesn't use the List order so for an user it's very confusing. Here an example of a confusing order. I would like to be able to order this Update screen or at least it to be equal to the List. Combined filter searching like '%string with spaces%'
Right now you can make cool lookups which works with the 'Suggestion contains" control working as follow: The thing I'm looking for right now is to achieve the same thing in the combined filter of that table, if you hit the lookup, but when i look search for "4022 635 9" in the combined filter, it will search as:
where (((((t1.[artikel_en_oms] like '%4022%'))) and (((t1.[artikel_en_oms] like '%635%'))) and (((t1.[artikel_en_oms] like '%9%')))))
I want to achieve:
where (((((t1.[artikel_en_oms] like '%4022 635 9%')))
Changing the filter condition in subjects -> data -> filter does not work. Is there a way to achieve this?
Information panel reload makes all tasks disappear from the tasks bar
When you have an information panel on your screen the reload of this information panel makes all tasks disappear from the tasks/reports bar, probably due to the row loosing it's focus. Is there a way to prevent this from happening without creating a process flow to retain the focus?
Error message using FILESTREAM to save documents
I am trying to use FILESTREAM for saving documents in the database. I have a table containing these columns: The domains are defined as folows: When I insert a document using T-SQL in SQL Mangement Studio in the GUI I see the documents as expected and can also open them using the lookup button. When I try to upload a new document I get the folowing error message: This makes sense because the filestream_id is inserted with a null value, running the same command in SQL management studio without the field filestream_id and the null value works because the field has a default value (newsequentialid()). What should I change to make the GUI surpress the f
Any ideas/tricks to running tasks from different parts of the same screen?
Hi! I have a screen, and it looks like this one below. As you see, I have 2 taskbars on the same screen. What I'm attempting to do here is to activate a detail tab (via a processflow) by allowing a user to click on a huge button on the bottom right of the screen, while keeping most of the tasks on the left side of the screen . My first attempt to solve this was via a dummy task which would direct the user to the detail tab. That's where I found myself building this screentype, trying to place 9 out of 10 of my table tasks on the left and one huge one on the bottom right. If you have tried this before, you know that it doesn't work that way and now all of the 10 table tasks are in both places  A couple of solutions I've already tried to achieve my separated tasks objective: 1 . Adding the task as a detail tile. This doesn't work
Bad performance on inserting. 2nd insert is way faster
I have a problem with performance. The thing is there is a huge insert trigger which does all kinds of things when inserting an order. The insert trigger also inserts in a lot of other tables, causing a lot of insert triggers to go off. The strange thing is. The first time I insert something, the performance is just awful. The 2nd time I insert in the table, the performance is way better. I bet this has something to do with the SQL server caching stuff. An example is inserting an order based on a huge calculation took 13 seconds. The second time i did this it only took 2.8 seconds. We know this big 'trigger party' is a problem, but this is the way it works; the 3 seconds is acceptable, but 13 is not! I'd love to know if there's a way to see what is increasing this performance this much (like a cache) and is there a way to always achieve this? Like force caching stuff? Who can help me with this issue?
Control procedure parameter - default value
First I created a control procedure with a parameter. Then I filled in a default value for the parameter in the task parameter tab. However the produced SQL code that actually creates the procedure does not set this default value on the database. Is this the correct behavior? The generated code in the software factory includes this part:
create procedure task_procedure_name ( @from_date date ) as begin
However I would expect something like this:
create procedure task_procedure_name ( @from_date date = '1970-01-01' ) as begin
My goal is to create a procedure which includes a parameter with a default value which I can override if necessary when calling the procedure using the execute command. Can this be accomplished?
'proc_application_startup' generated an error while deriving the parameters
What causes this error message during startup? Stored procedure 'proc_application_startup' generated an error while deriving the parameters. Information: Parameter 0 - project_id (project_id): An SqlParameter with ParameterName '@project_id' is not contained by this SqlParameterCollection. Parameter 1 - message (message): An SqlParameter with ParameterName '@message' is not contained by this SqlParameterCollection.
Run WebGUI over SF (2019.1)
For developent purposes I like to run the WebGUI over SF. Is it still possible in SF version 2019.1? Are any additional settings needed, compared to 2018.3? Following message appears:
Export to xlsx in reporting service (crystal report)
We created a report in Crystal Reports which we want to export to xlsx format and not to xls format. Is this possible? We want to do this because after generating several Excel files using the Thinkwise reporting Service we want to combine them as separate worksheets in one excel file. The component we use for this needs to have xlsx and not xls.
List pages in the Windows GUI
I know that with the Web GUI we have pages in Lists, capping the amount of rows you see to a certain amount. Now I'm trying to do that too in the Windows GUI for the project I'm working on because we sometimes have a huge list of maybe above 6000 rows. In the Software Factory we can set a limit to how many rows are displayed, and even the page sizes. But it looks like the page size doesn't work for the Windows GUI. How can I introduce list pages in the Windows GUI or is this not possible and can we only set a maximum?
Rename Template task failed because of related 'program object item parameters'
We're still on 2018.2. When i rename a Template, which has been assigned AND has parameters in the assignment, the rename task fails, because it has related parameters. Apparently the task is not working with these. Is this fixed yet in a later version of the SF?
http connector status code -1
I am trying to use the http-connector to connect to a website/webshop (http://webshop.coffeefresh.nl). The http connector is returning error code -1. When I do the same request to http://bol.com for instance I receive status code 0 / http 200 OK. I can reach the URL without any problems using a browser or insomnia. Just not with the http connector. What can be the cause of the -1 error code, or, where do I look for the problem?
